Faculty Profile for Professor Johnson

Begins with an introduction to psychological science and the scientific method and then explores many areas within the field of psychology as it relates to exercise and sport. Readings include textbooks and original journal articles. This course requires no prior exposure to psychology and makes no assumptions regarding prior athletic experiences. Students who successfully complete this seminar earn credit for CORE S160 and satisfy the Core Sciences requirement.

Douglas Johnson is the William R. Kenan Jr. Professor of Psychological and Brain Sciences, and currently serves as the Dean of Academic and Curricular Affairs. His research interests include attention, memory, and metacognition, and outside of Colgate he (slowly) finishes the odd triathlon here or there.
